FAQ

  • Do you take insurance?

Yes, I currently accept ONLY Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBS IL), United Healthcare and Aetna. If you have another insurance provider, I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients also choose to use HSA/FSA cards for payment.

  • How long is a therapy session, and how often will we meet?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build consistency and momentum. As progress is made, some clients transition to bi-weekly or monthly sessions, depending on their needs.

  • Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, I offer both in-person and secure telehealth sessions. Virtual sessions provide flexibility and convenience while ensuring the same level of care and confidentiality as in-person appointments.

  • What can I expect in the first session?

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, your goals, and any background that might be helpful. I’ll also answer any questions you may have about the process. Many clients leave the first session with a sense of relief, clarity, and a plan for moving forward.

  • What issues do you specialize in?

I work with individuals, couples, and families on a wide range of challenges, including generational trauma, high functioning depression and anxious, parenting struggles, stress experienced by high achievers, adoption-related concerns, and cultural identity issues. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where healing and growth are possible.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

Life happens and emergencies may arise, which is why we want to make sure you understand our policy before you begin working with me.

As much as I want to be flexible every time something comes up, I appreciate your understanding that sessions cancelled within 24 hours of your appointment time, will be charged for the full service fee.
